Music Box 03/04/2021

Lois is the musical name for Olympia Washington singer/songwriter Lois Maffeo, and this is Evening In Paris, from her second album Strumpet (K 1993).

It's that Louie Louie riff again! The Royalites hailed from San Diego California, and this is their first of two singles, Dance Time (Mojak Records 7" 1965).

Sheila was born Annie Chancel and became a huge star of the yé-yé scene at the age of 17. This is A La Même Heure, from her four track E.P. Tous Les Deux (Philips 7" 1965). It's a shame none of her music was released here until well into the late 70s.

Sunchariot were a studio-based act who released a trio of singles on Decca in the early 70s. This is the simply gorgeous You're Lovely, the B-side to their debut, All Your Love (Decca 7" 1972). Hope you like it too.

We finish with Auckland New Zealand singer/songwriter Miriam Clancy (NZ artists), and a couple of official videos for tracks from her third album, Astronomy (Desert Road/Mushroom 2019). First, The Bells, then we finish with The Sound. Buy here. Until next week ...
