Music Box 18/06/2022

We start today with Glasgow’s finest Belle And Sebastian, with the wonderful Get Me Away From Here I'm Dying, from their second album If You're Feeling Sinister (Jeepster Recordings 1996). Enjoy.
Our UK pop-psyche gem from 1969 is Flaxen Hair by Marc Brierley, an important part of the nascent psychedelic folk scene in the 60s. This was the B-side to his fourth single Stay A Little Longer Merry Ann (CBS 7” 1969). Excellent.
Cigarettes After Sex is an ambient pop collective founded in El Paso Texas, led by songwriter Greg Gonzalez, and is currently based out of Brooklyn New York.  This is the gorgeous K., from their eponymous sophomore album Cigarettes After Sex (Partisan Recordings 2017).
Next up, Manchester’s finest The Fall, and the official video for their single Touch Sensitive (Artful Records CD 1999). Also found on their (amazingly) twentieth(!) studio album The Marshall Suite (Artful Records 1999). Abrasively good.
We conclude with a brace of ‘official visualisations’ for Throwing Muses tracks Dark Blue, and then Bywater, from the recent LP Sun Racket (Fire 2020), a welcome return for this much missed alt-rock genius band. Buy here. Until next week …
