Emily Bindiger (born May 10, 1955, in the Brooklyn borough of New York City) is an American singer who is part of the a cappella group the Accidentals.  She played the role of Francine in the children's show The Great Space Coaster. Bindiger has recorded for soundtracks for movies such as The Stepford Wives, One Life to Live, Bullets Over Broadway, Everyone Says I Love You, Donnie Brasco, The Hudsucker Proxy, Michael Collins, and The Tune. Bindiger recorded and released her debut and only album Emily in 1972 when she was 16. Here’s Confession, from her sole solo LP Emily (France: EMI Pathé 1972 Japan: Odeon 1972), released under the mononym Emily.
Mr. Lucky and the Gamblers originated in Newport, Oregon as "The Blazers". In 1964, the bass player and business leader, Bud Garrison, persuaded Mike Parker to endorse a name change (Mr. Lucky was a popular TV character at the time). They released three singles, and this is their debut, Take A Look At Me (Dot Records 7” 1966).
The Raveonettes are a Danish rock 'n' roll duo consisting of Sune Rose Wagner (on guitar, instrumentation and male vocals) and Sharin Foo (on bass and female vocals). This is Z-Boys, from their seventh LP Pe'ahi (Beat Dies Records 2014).
Stella was a French singer born December 1950. She recorded her first 45RPM at the age of 13. She wrote her own lyrics, often ironic about the "yé-yé singers". The music was composed by her uncle Maurice Chorenslup. She stopped her career under the name "Stella" in 1969. In 1970, she married the drummer Christian Vander and began to sing in his projects Magma, and Offering. This is Cauchemar Auto Protestateur, released on the Si Vous Connaissez Quelque Chose De Pire Qu'un Vampire E.P. (RCA Victor 7” 1966) and her sole LP Stella (RCA Victor 1967)
We conclude with two official videos for one of my favourite modern bands, Baltimore duo Wye Oak. First, my introduction to them, the awesome Holy Holy, from their third LP, the classic Civilian (Merge 2011), then their most recent lyric video for I Learnt It From You, from their latest release, Every Day Like The Last (Merge 2023), their seventh LP.  Until next week ...
