Music Box August 26th 2023

I know nothing about Annabelle's Room, except they were probably Canadian. They only had one release, Annabelle's Room E.P. (Raining Records 12” Canada only 1985). From it here’s Hopscotch.
Ireland's Glee Club only ever made one full album, after a debut mini-LP, but that was enough to win them deserved attention. Here’s the official music video for No Reason, from that LP, Mine (4AD 1994). Excellent.
Next up, another Irish indie rock band, formed in Dublin in 1987. The Harvest Ministers released six albums over two decades. This is one of their earlier singles, the absolutely gorgeous Six O'Clock Is Rosary (Sarah 7” 1992), their second. Also check out their heavenly debut You Do My World The World Of Good.
Now for a classic. Siouxsie and the Banshees, with Belladonna, from their seventh album Hyaena (Wonderland/Polydor 1984).
We then conclude with a double-bill of official videos for Manchester’s post-punk outfit Magazine, fronted by ex-Buzzcocks Howard Devoto, both from their classic debut LP Real Life (Virgin 1978). First, Motorcade, then The Light Pours Out Of Me. Awesome. Until next week …
