Music Box September 16th 2023

We start with the Official Video for Coldplay’s single Speed Of Sound (Parlophone 7”/10”/12” remix/CD 2005), from their third album X&Y (Parlophone 2005).
Future Daze were an Indie rock band formed in South London in 1980, who released four singles. This is Sentence, the B-side of their third single Venus (Polydor 7” 1982).
Kitchens Of Distinction took their name from a Hygena advertisement and were formed in Tooting, London in 1985. This is their third single, The 3rd Time We Opened The Capsule (One Little Indian  12” 1989).
Minks are a New York duo (no to be confused with Nashville four-piece The Minks), and this is Playboys Of The Western World, from their second album Tides End (Captured Tracks 2013).
We conclude with a double-bill from yé-yé singer Sheila, born Annie Chancel on the 16th August 1945 in Créteil, France. Starting her career during the 60's yé-yé explosion, she quickly won the nickname "La petite fiancée des Français" (Sweetheart of the French). First, we have the title track to her sixth LP Dans Une Heure ( Disques Carrere 1967), which was also released as a 7” single in Canada & Greece, then we conclude with single La Vie Est Un Tourbillon (Philips 7” 1966). Until next week …
