Music Box 20th September 2025

We start with Mancunian legends The Fall, with Blindness, from their 24th (!) studio LP Fall Heads Roll (Slogan 2005). Just love that chunky bass.
More legends, this time from 60s L.A., Love, with A House Is Not a Motel, B-side to their classic single Alone Again Or (Elektra 7" 1968), also on their classic third LP Forever Changes (Elektra 1967).
From Burnage, we have 80s post-punk band The Stockholm Monsters, and Where I Belong, from their sole LP Alma Mater (Factory 1984 cat no. FACT80).
Next, blues legend Blind Willie McTell (1898-1959) and She Don't Treat Me Good No More, recorded Atlanta, Georgia, May 1950 (Regal Records, cat no. 1276, unissued), found on the compilation Blind Willie McTell & Curley Weaver – Don't Forget It: The Post~War Years 1949 ~ 1950 (Document Records 2008)
We conclude with David Bowie's 'call and response' to Major Tom, with the official videos for singles Space Oddity (Philips 7" 1969, this is different from the album version), and Ashes To Ashes (RCA 7" 1980, again different from the LP version). Brilliant songs from a true rock legend. Until next week ...
