Music Box 17th January 2026

The Barrier (website) were a psychedelic garage rock group, formed circa 1966 in Fulham, London, UK who released three singles. This is B-side Dawn Breaks Through, from their single Georgie Brown (Eyemark 7" 1968)
Next up, a real rarity, US band Camp Hilltop and single Sunday (A&M 7" 1969)
Now, another track from Quilt, the wonderful Just Dust, from their second LP  Held In Splendor (sic) (Mexican Summer 2014)
The Reds, Pinks, and Purples are a San Franciscan DIY kitchen pop project of Glenn Donaldson, with live support from friends, purveyors of ennui-ridden sad songs. This is an absolute classic, Uncloudy Mind, from the brilliantly titled Slow Torture Of An Hourly Wage E.P. (self-released digital 2022).
We conclude with a brace of classics from Blondie, the official videos for Union City Blue (Chrysalis 7" 1979), from their fourth LP Eat to the Beat (Chrysalis 1979), then their excellent comeback single Maria (Beyond Music all formats 1999), from their seventh LP No Exit (Beyond Music 1999). Both tracks are absolute pop perfection. Until next week ...
