We start with Buzzcocks - Something's Gone Wrong Again, the B-side of their tenth and stand alone single Harmony In My Head (United Artists 7" 1979), fortunately collected on the deluxe version of Singles Going Steady (United Artists UK 1981)
Climax Blues Band were an English band founded in the 1960's by Colin Cooper. Originally known as The Climax Chicago Blues Band, the Climax Blues Band has always focused on its roots, a unique combination of jazz and blues. Single Couldn't Get It Right (BTM Records 7" 1976) reached no.10 in the UK and no.3 in the US charts
Garbage - Tell Me Where It Hurts (Warner Bros. 7"/CD/DVD 2007) was recorded to promote their compilation Absolute Garbage (warner Bros 2007) - well, their greatest hits was bound to be called that (pre-empting music critics like myself). The video references one of my favourite films Belle de Jour (France 1967), directed by the great Luis Buñuel and starring the fantastic Catherine Deneuve
The Wave-Riders were a 1960s garage rock group from Florida. This is their sole release, single Ain't It A Shame (Tener 7" 1966)
We conclude with Manchester's finest The Fall, and both sides of their second single It's The New Thing c/w Various Times (Step Forward 7" 1978). This signaled the arrival of a new and interesting talent. Until next week ...
