We conclude with both sides of The Rolling Stones's sixth single, the first they wrote themselves, The Last Time c/w Play With Fire (Decca 7" 1965). Absolutely genius, based on "This May Be the Last Time", a gospel song recorded in 1954 by the Staple Singers, but reinterpreted as their own. The B-side is also excellent. Until next week ...
