Magazine were an English post-punk band from Manchester originally active from 1977 to 1981, fronted by ex-Buzzcocks singer Howard Devoto, and guitarist John McGeoch. This is the magnificent You Never Knew Me, backing vocals by Laura Teresa, from their Martin Hannett produced classic third album The Correct Use Of Soap (Virgin 1980)
Please were a 1960s band that never released anything in their lifetime, but like Folder Man here their demos were compiled onto album 1968/69 (Essex Records 1996)
Wire were an English art punk / post-punk band, formed in London in October 1976 by Colin Newman (vocals, guitar), Graham Lewis (bass, vocals), Bruce Gilbert (guitar), and Robert Gotobed (drums). They were originally inspired by and associated with the burgeoning UK punk rock scene. This is their fourth single Outdoor Miner (Harvest 7" 1979). A shorter version without piano appears on their second LP Chairs Missing (Harvest 1978)
