We conclude with the official videos for Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark's two singles from their fourth LP Dazzle Ships (Telegraph 1983), Genetic Engineering (Telegraph 7"/12" 1983) & Telegraph (Telegraph 7"/12" 1983). Electro-pop brilliance, deceptively simple. For a very futuristic band of the time, the first's synthesized speech featured on the track is taken from Speak & Spell, an educational electronic toy developed by Texas Instruments in the 1970s intended to teach children spelling, whilst the second is an ode to an outdated technology. Until next week ...
