Bélver Yin were a Spanish band established in Salamanca who released three albums. This is Atardecer (translates as Sunset) from their debut LP Luz Bel (Noisex Music 1991) Buy here.
Tommy James & The Shondells were a Garage/Psychedelic Rock/Pop band, formed in Niles, Michigan, USA, in 1960. They had two No. 1 singles in the U.S., "Hanky Panky" (July 1966) and "Crimson and Clover" (February 1969), and also charted twelve other Top 40 hits, including five in the Hot 100's top ten. One of those was Crystal Blue Persuasion (Roulette 7” 1969). Fantastic.
Strawberry Jam were based in Surrey, the band won the TV talent show Opportunity Knocks in early 1969 and were rewarded with a one-single deal by Pye, Per-So-Nal-Ly. This is the B-side. Buy here. They subsequently changed into the early 70s rock band Natural Gas, who cut a demo for Ember Records and recorded a couple of sessions for John Peel. They also released a one-off single for CBS under the name The One Hit Wonders. Here’s This Is To A Girl, B-side of Per-So-Nal-Ly (Pye 7” 1969), our U.K. pop-psyche selection from 1969. Groovy.
This classic needs no introduction. Walk On By  (US: Scepter Records U.K.: Pye International 7” 1964) is a song composed by Burt Bacharach, with lyrics by Hal David, for singer Dionne Warwick in 1963. Note the unusual instrumental break with ascending vocal line. The original and the best.
We conclude with something modern. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are a Melbourne, Australia based indie rock band formed in 2013.  Sister's Jeans & How Long?, both from their debut LP Hope Downs (Sub Pop 2018). Next week is Christmas. Merry Christmas and I'll see you in the new year.
