Music Box 18th February 2023

Our journey through the U.K.'s pysche-pop tunes from 1969 concludes with studio trio Bobak, Jons, Malone, and Burning The Weed, from their sole release, the album Motherlight (Morgan Blue Town 1969). Hope you enjoyed the trip.
Next up, Chronophage from Austin, Texas formed in 2017 and relocated to NY in 2021. This is Love Torn in A Dream, from their recent fifth LP Chronophage (bruit direct disques/ Post Present Medium 2022). Buy here.
Lower Dens were an American indie rock/synth pop band from Baltimore, Maryland, active from 2010 to late 2021, and this is Nova Anthem, from their second studio LP Nootropics (Ribbon Music 2012).
The Rationals were an American R&B-influenced rock & roll band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, formed in 1964 and active until 1970 when they split shortly after the release of their debut LP.  This is the superb Look What You're Doing To Me Baby (A-Square Records 7” 1965). Here’s another excellent fan video from Dick Coombes.
We conclude with New Order's debut single Ceremony c/w In A Lonely place (Factory 7"/12" 1981 cat no. FAC33). A superb debut, these were the last songs written while Ian was still alive, hence the Joy Division song writing credit. Until next week ...
