The Initial Shock, originally formed in 1966 as The Chosen Few, was a psychedelic rock band from Missoula Montana. Composed of members from Missoula bands Mojo’s Mark IV and The Vulcans, the band changed its name to Initial Shock in 1967, moving to San Francisco that same year. This is their second and last single Mind Disaster (B.F.D. Records 7" 1968). The video features clips from Věra Chytilová's fantastic 1967 Czech film Sedmikrásky (Daisies).
Stockholm Monsters were a band from Burnage, Manchester, founded in the summer of 1980, initially around the core of vocalist Tony France, bassist Ged Duffy and drummer Shan Hira. Their unusual name represents a combination of Bowie's then-current Scary Monsters album and a pleasant-sounding Eurocity. This is their debut single Fairy Tales (Factory 7" 1982 cat no. FAC41).

Absolutely brilliant. Until next week ...
