Music Box January 25th 2025

We start with Al Stewart, a Scottish-born singer-songwriter and folk-rock musician who rose to prominence as part of the British folk revival in the 1960s and 1970s. here's his classic Year of the Cat, this is the full-length LP version from his seventh LP Year of the Cat (RCA 1976)
Sun Kil Moon, formed in 2002 by former Red House Painters frontman Mark Kozelek. This is Carry Me Ohio, from his debut LP Ghosts Of The Great Highway (Vinyl Films Vinyl/Jeteset records CD 2003)
Young Marble Giants were a Welsh post-punk band formed in Cardiff, Wales, in 1978. This is their debut single, the standalone Final Day (Rough Trade 7" 1980). Oddly, released after their debut (and sole) LP Colossal Youth (Rough Trade 1980). The single is excellent.
Warren Zevon's Werewolves of London (Asylum 7" 1978) needs no introduction. "Owww-whooo"!
We conclude with Boston Mass indie-rock band, the sadly neglected and overlooked Salem 66, whom I adore. We finish with two songs, Ancient Eyes, and then Playground, both from their debut full-length LP A Ripping Spin (Homestead 1985) Until next week ...
